 Idea of new feature for CC: the attack angle

The concept:
-When a footman (for example) is ordered to attack an enemy behind, or on his side, he would be paused and turned at a specific speed, so that he ends up facing the target.
-That would be applied to all units that can turn to face their targets, including buildings (like cannons, cannon towers.. )
-Units would turn at a speed related to their type. Heavy fatass armored dudes (like the colossi) would turn slowly, cannons even slower, militia would turn very fast.
-Units would not need to be Exactly facing their target, they would have a "window" in which they can fire without neding to turn.
That window would be larger for less focused units (militia, people with halberds), and thinner for focused ones (cannons)

Extra info:
-It could be applied only to large units
-damages would be rebalanced, especially more damage for colossi.

I think he meant that they can turn if they jump too.
Or he thought that they can't cast spells/jump if they aren't turned to the place they target?

I suppose I am vague a lot. I meant what Legion said when they could just turn into place by jumping in that direction. Plus i'm am not totally understanding your idea. If it is in cave man talk then I guess i'm hopeless...

The idea is about attacking, nothing else.
It forces units to face their targetefore they actually launch any attack, that's all.

Currently if a Colossus clicks to attack a soldier behind him, he starts punching already, and while the default w3 engine turns him, he already launched his punch, and the soldier is usually hit even before the colossus actually faces him.
With the new system, the Colossus would have to turn first, then he can attack. It would make it possible to run in circles around a colossus to make it harder and slower for the Colo to hit.

This sounds fine, but would make it to where its only worth using abilities in battle. Yet I don't find that bad, because there are alot of them.

This could be really cool-- units could be balanced based on their turn speed, the size of their "window," etc. It'll be a real pain to fully balance, though... I voted "yes" to see it happen Smile.
